Paradise Happy Birthday

I was in the mood to stamp today and I used my new Paradise stamp set. I love this stamp set because it looks very tropical and like Florida. We may not get snow but we are green year round. I stamped the leaves with my favorite color green. I think I like Old Olive the most. What is your favorite color green?

Stamps: Paradise & All Holidays
Paper: Old Olive, Garden Green, Certainly Celery & Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Green Galore
Accessories: Big Shot Machine, Clear Scallop Square Die, 5/8 " Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon & Dimensionals

Build-a-Roo Love Card

Hey everyone,

I have been gone so long and I wanted to share the card I made for DH. He has been so great taking care of me through all my recent health problems and I wanted to show him how much I love him. I fell in love with this stamp set when I saw it in the new SU catalog. It is so versatile and I will be a grandmother soon and the little roo is so cute too. Tomorrow I get my stitches out and hope I will be fine soon. I had a real scare when I was told I have basal cell carcinoma on my left ear. I am so fair I never go out in the sun so it was a real shock. My doctor said that is was probably due to being in the sun in my childhood. Now I am not going outside without sunblock.

I stamped my Build-a-Roo stamp on watercolor paper using StazOn Black Ink . I then used a Creamy Carmel marker and outlined my stamped image and brought the color to the center with an Aqua Painter to fill in the image. I repeated with the new In Color Soft Suede. I colored the inside ears with my Blush Blossom marker and used the basic Black marker on the nose. I then stamped the hearts with StazOn Black ink and colored them with Rose Red pad with an Aqua Painter. I cut my image out both of images with my paper snips and mounted dimensionals under them. I used a 1 3/4" Circle Punch on So Saffron card stock to stamp my sentiment with StazOn Black. I used dimensionals to pop up the sentiment.

Stamps: Build-a-Roo
Paper: Old Olive, So Saffron, Rose Red, Watercolor Paper & Tall Tales DSP
Ink: Stazon Black, Rose Red & Creamy Carmel, Soft Suede, Basic Black and Blush Blossom Markers
Accessories: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Aqua Painter, 1/4" Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 1/4 " Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon & Dimensionals

My Paper Rack

My husband got the slat board at Lowe's (You could use peg board too) and had it cut to the size of my space. He had to stack two pieces to go as high as I wanted. I am still waiting for him to put up another slat board for all my 12 x 12 papers. We got the wire racks from several places listed below. You have to check who has it in stock. LOL!!! We purchased 8 1/2 x 11 which comes as a triple and 12 x 12 racks that are doubles.

I just took out my 42 retiring stamps and my 10 shelves on top of the Ikea Bookcases are still pretty full. I have over 100+ current stamps and lots of wheels. I will have room for the stamps I plan to buy from the new catalog.

My Stamp Room Photos

I am fortunate to have been able to design my 15 x 12" stamp room because we built a new house in Mount Dora, Fl. I went to Ikea and bought 4 Mikael tables, 5 Expedit cabinets (Doors on the top two units and an empty space and then drawers in bottom 2 units), Mikael computer desk and Alex 6 drawers unit which holds all my punches, Powder Pals and Grid Paper. I have moved my stuff around 4 or five times till I came up with the perfect arrangement. I butted up two desks horizontally and they are parallel to the other two. I have all 5 shelving units on one wall with my stamps in the top 10 door units. I have my light box, Sizzix dies, notebooks & misc. in the open spaces. In the bottom 20 drawers I have all my SU goodies. I love these thinner units as you can move them around easily and break them up to fit your area and you can also customize by adding doors or drawers.
I think that you need more flat working space so you can leave all your toys out. I also bought some slat board and paper racks I put in a walled area next to my 8 x 4 walk in closet. I use that closet for much less used business materials and extras I have collected over the years. I bought a Wall Unit Plus wooden ink pad, reinker & marker storage unit I absolutely love from Storage Units, Ink & More! I also bought a ribbon holder from Organize More. I want to paint the room a SU green color but we have not got around to it yet since I have had a lot of health issues lately and then I will put up all my Decor Elements. The last picture is of Amber my 4 year old Yorkie in her bed. :)
Enjoy,
